Weak Kernels

چکیده
In this paper, we formalize a folklore concept and formally define weak kernels for fixedparameter computation. We show that a problem has a (traditional) kernel then it also has a weak kernel. It is unknown yet whether the converse is always true. On the other hand, for a problem in NP, if it has a weak kernel then it admits an FPT algorithm (hence a kernel). We show a few applications of weak kernels, for which a (traditional) kernelization seems hard to apply. Among them, we present the first FPT algorithm for the famous Sorting by Minimum Unsigned Reversals problem. Department of Computer Science, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT 59717, USA. Finite p-groups with few non-linear irreducible character kernels
Abstract. In this paper, we classify all of the finite p-groups with at most three non linear irreducible character kernels.
متن کاملDerivatives of Markov Kernels and Their Jordan Decomposition
We study a particular class of transition kernels that stems from differentiating Markov kernels in the weak sense. Sufficient conditions are established for this type of kernels to admit a Jordan-type decomposition. The decomposition is explicitly constructed.
متن کاملStudy on Water-Induced Ultra-Weak Luminescence Value of Wheat Kernels
The wheat kernels were processed by moistened in water. The spontaneous and water-induced luminescence data (photon counts) were noted with an ultra-weak luminescence (UWL) detector. The following was the features of the data analyzed by the statistical parameters of the spontaneous luminescence and the fitting curves of the water-induced luminescence. The results show that the UWL intensity ri...

We prove the weak positivity of the kernels of Kodaira-Spencertype maps for pure Hodge module extensions of generically defined variations of Hodge structure.
متن کاملNew estimates for the maximal singular integral
In this paper we pursue the study of the problem of controlling the maximal singular integral T ∗f by the singular integral Tf . Here T is a smooth homogeneous Calderón-Zygmund singular integral of convolution type. We consider two forms of control, namely, in the L2(Rn) norm and via pointwise estimates of T ∗f by M(Tf) or M2(Tf) , where M is the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and M2 = M ◦M ...
